Membership in the Credit Union is open to any permanent employee of the City of Raleigh, any permanent employee of the Raleigh Housing Authority, and
immediate family of any member of the Credit Union.
Deposits to accounts may be made by payroll deduction, check, cash or ACH draft.
Credit Union members who retire or leave the city's employ may retain membership as long as at least $25 remains in their account.
Every account in the Credit Union is insured by the National Credit Union Administration. NCUA is an independent United States government agency that insures the deposits of credit union members nationwide.
Life insurance is provided on each members share account, dollar for dollar, up to a maximum of $3,000. In the event of a member's death, the beneficiary chosen by the member will receive a check for an amount equal to that of the member's share account up to $3,000, providing that the money in the account was deposited prior to the age of 55 and a balance of $3,000 was maintained at all times. Life insurance is also provided on money deposited after age 55 but the amount of coverage is based on a percentage according to the member's age at the time of the deposit. Life insurance will not be provided for any deposits made after age 70.
